MMI question: Prioritisation, organisation and decision making
Urgent calls on a Monday morning
You are helping on reception at a dental practice at 8.30 on a Monday. There is one urgent appointment left this morning. Four people ring. A man has a swelling under his jaw that is spreading down his neck, and he's finding it hard to swallow. A woman has chipped a front tooth and is getting married on Saturday. A mum says her 8 year old was kept awake all night by toothache, with no swelling. A regular patient says his crown fell off at breakfast and it doesn't hurt. Who gets what, and why?

What this kind of station tests
Five things and time for three. The mark is for the ordering rule and for saying what happens to the things that were dropped.
