University of Birmingham in its own words
Multiple Mini Interview format. For Home applicants the circuit is six or seven 8-minute stations, each including 2 minutes of preparation time, delivered in person at the Medical School in Birmingham and made up of a mix of interviews, role-play and calculation tasks; the stations all run simultaneously and an applicant may be asked to begin at any of them. At each station there is one interviewer or role-player plus a second interviewer present, and both score independently. International applicants interview online via Zoom regardless of where they are based, sitting at least two MMI stations including a role-play station, plus a separate online calculations assessment on a different date. The maximum score for each MMI station and for the SJT component is the same, so all stations and the SJT are equally weighted. Birmingham labels this format as applying to 2026 entry.

Invitations are normally sent between December and January, with the interviews themselves taking place in January and February, and all decisions aimed for UCAS Track by mid-March. Applicants continue to be invited until all places are filled, so a late invitation is not a bad sign; unsuccessful decisions are mostly held back until interview places are full. Home applicants interview in person at the Medical School on a circuit of six or seven eight-minute MMI stations; international applicants interview online via Zoom with at least two stations plus a separate online calculations assessment on a different date.
