University of Glasgow Dentistry: UCAT, A-Levels & Interview Requirements

University of Glasgow has not published a fixed UCAT cut-off for 2027 entry. Here's how UCAT, A-levels, SJT and the interview all fit together for dentistry.

2027 UCAT cut off
Not published
How the UCAT is weighted
UCAT is used as the ranking and shortlisting tool for interview selection; a score deemed too low results in no interview offer regardless of academic qualifications. No fixed cut-off score is published in advance or during the cycle.
SJT policy
Not used. Glasgow states explicitly that it does not take SJT banding into account in its decision making.
A-level requirements
AAA in three different subjects by the end of Year 13, including Biology/Human Biology and Chemistry both at grade A; General Studies is not accepted as the third subject. GCSE: 6 subjects at grade A/7 including Maths or Physics, and English Language or Literature.
Interview format
Multiple Mini Interview with 7 stations of around 6 minutes each, including 1 minute of reading time, roughly 45 minutes in total, covering role-play, discussion and practical station types. Invites sent in December, interviews held on a weekend in February.

National benchmark, for context

For context, the UCAT Consortium's own 2025 statistics report a mean cognitive score of 1891 (out of 2,700) across 41,354 tests, with the median (5th decile) at 1880 and the top decile at 2220+. This is a national figure, not University of Glasgow's own threshold, since University of Glasgow doesn't publish one for the current cycle.

UCAT Consortium, Test Statistics 2025

Standard A-level offer: AAA in three different subjects by the end of Year 13, including Biology/Human Biology and Chemistry both at grade A; General Studies is not accepted as the third subject. GCSE: 6 subjects at grade A/7 including Maths or Physics, and English Language or Literature. SJT policy: Not used. Glasgow states explicitly that it does not take SJT banding into account in its decision making. Worth knowing: The academic entry requirements page found is titled for entry in 2025, one cycle behind both 2026 and 2027; no page explicitly updated for 2026 or 2027 entry could be found, despite the current UCAS course listing confirming a 2026-27 academic session exists. The official interview-format page also returned a fetch error and was sourced via a search-engine excerpt rather than a direct read. Both facts should be treated as the best available rather than fully current, and re-verified before relying on them. Always confirm against the official page before applying, since this is the most recent published position rather than a guarantee for the live cycle.
