University of Glasgow Medicine: UCAT, A-Levels & Interview Requirements
University of Glasgow has not published a fixed UCAT cut-off for 2027 entry. Here's how UCAT, A-levels, SJT and the interview all fit together for medicine.
- 2027 UCAT cut off
- Not published
- How the UCAT is weighted
- UCAT score is used to allocate interviews among applicants who meet minimum academic requirements and have a satisfactory personal statement and reference; Glasgow states the score range it considers varies each year based on cohort performance, and no fixed cut-off is published in advance.
- SJT policy
- The SJT portion of the UCAT is explicitly not considered in Glasgow's selection process.
- A-level requirements
- Standard offer AAA, must include Chemistry and one of Biology, Physics or Mathematics. GCSEs: English literature or English language at grade B/6; Biology at grade B/6 if not studied at A-level. Resits and extra time for exams are not accepted.
- Interview format
- Traditional two-panel interview, not MMI, 30 minutes total, held online. One panel assesses motivation and teamwork, the other communication and an ethical scenario. Interviews run late November to March.
National benchmark, for context
For context, the UCAT Consortium's own 2025 statistics report a mean cognitive score of 1891 (out of 2,700) across 41,354 tests, with the median (5th decile) at 1880 and the top decile at 2220+. This is a national figure, not University of Glasgow's own threshold, since University of Glasgow doesn't publish one for the current cycle.
UCAT Consortium, Test Statistics 2025Standard A-level offer: Standard offer AAA, must include Chemistry and one of Biology, Physics or Mathematics. GCSEs: English literature or English language at grade B/6; Biology at grade B/6 if not studied at A-level. Resits and extra time for exams are not accepted. SJT policy: The SJT portion of the UCAT is explicitly not considered in Glasgow's selection process. Worth knowing: All Medicine pages checked are explicitly labelled for the current cycle, unlike the equivalent Dentistry pages, so no stale-cycle issue was found here. UCAT thresholds for the current cycle will not be published until after shortlisting. Always confirm against the official page before applying, since this is the most recent published position rather than a guarantee for the live cycle.
