University of Surrey's medicine programme is graduate-entry: no standard A-level route applies. Here's how UCAT, your degree, and the interview fit together.

- Surrey's 2027 admissions policy says its review group selects candidates by anonymised ranking of admissions test score, and that "Applications will be sorted according to academic profile and GAMSAT (or UCAT) overall score in order to determine which applicants will receive an offer of an interview." No weighting between the two is published.

- Candidates sitting the UCAT must have a situational judgement test band of 3 or above to be considered for interview, and a candidate with an SJT band of 4 is rejected. Worth knowing: A graduate entry BMBS whose admissions test depends on what your degree is in, so two graduates with identical grades can face different tests. Surrey takes the GAMSAT as stage 2 of its process, and states that it will also consider applicants who have taken the UCAT provided they hold a degree in Biochemistry, Biology, Biomedical Science, Chemistry or Natural Sciences. Every applicant must take one of the two. Always confirm against the official page before applying, since this is the most recent published position rather than a guarantee for the live cycle.
