University of Liverpool Medicine: UCAT, A-Levels & Interview Requirements
University of Liverpool has not published a fixed UCAT cut-off for 2027 entry. Here's how UCAT, A-levels, SJT and the interview all fit together for medicine.
- 2027 UCAT cut off
- Not published
- How the UCAT is weighted
- Non-graduate applicants are ranked in Stage 1 by their overall UCAT score (subtest scores are not used); only the top-ranked applicants progress to Stage 2 academic assessment. For 2026 entry, the last completed cycle, published cut-offs were 1,960 (home) and 2,080 (international/EU), but the university states cut-offs vary year to year.
- SJT policy
- SJT is checked at Stage 1 alongside UCAT. Home applicants must score Band 1 to 3 for their application to be processed; International/EU applicants may offer any of the 4 SJT bands.
- A-level requirements
- AAA including Chemistry plus either Biology, Physics or Mathematics, plus a third academic subject in one sitting after two years of study; alternatively A*AB where the A*A includes Chemistry plus Biology/Physics/Maths and a B in the third subject. GCSE: normally nine GCSEs in separate subjects (minimum 15 points), including English Language, Mathematics and Science at grade 6/B minimum.
- Interview format
- Multiple Mini Interview. UK applicants interview face to face on campus; international applicants are invited to an equivalent online MMI. Station count is not published. Interviews expected January/February, with none offered after early March.
National benchmark, for context
For context, the UCAT Consortium's own 2025 statistics report a mean cognitive score of 1891 (out of 2,700) across 41,354 tests, with the median (5th decile) at 1880 and the top decile at 2220+. This is a national figure, not University of Liverpool's own threshold, since University of Liverpool doesn't publish one for the current cycle.
UCAT Consortium, Test Statistics 2025Standard A-level offer: AAA including Chemistry plus either Biology, Physics or Mathematics, plus a third academic subject in one sitting after two years of study; alternatively A*AB where the A*A includes Chemistry plus Biology/Physics/Maths and a B in the third subject. GCSE: normally nine GCSEs in separate subjects (minimum 15 points), including English Language, Mathematics and Science at grade 6/B minimum. SJT policy: SJT is checked at Stage 1 alongside UCAT. Home applicants must score Band 1 to 3 for their application to be processed; International/EU applicants may offer any of the 4 SJT bands. Worth knowing: Resit applicants usually must have achieved at least ABB at first sitting. The 1,960/2,080 UCAT figures are explicitly last cycle's historical thresholds, not a guarantee for the current one. Always confirm against the official page before applying, since this is the most recent published position rather than a guarantee for the live cycle.
