Imperial College London has not published a fixed UCAT cut-off for 2027 entry. Here's how UCAT, A-levels, SJT and the interview all fit together for medicine.

- UCAT is used to help decide shortlisting for interview but is not the sole factor; the threshold varies year to year with the distribution of scores and the ratio of applicants to places. For 2026 entry (the last completed cycle), the published threshold was 2,320 for home applicants and 2,170 for contextual applicants, but Imperial does not guarantee this repeats.

- For 2026 entry, a minimum SJT Band 3 was required alongside the UCAT threshold, with Band 4 discounted, for both home and contextual applicants. Not confirmed for the current cycle.
- A-level requirements
- Minimum entry standard A*AA, including A* and A in Biology and Chemistry (the A* in either subject) plus an A in a third subject. General Studies and Critical Thinking are not accepted, and all qualifications must be taken in the same sitting. No GCSE requirements published.

- Resits
- Imperial College London publishes no resit policy. That is not the same as resits being accepted, and it is worth asking admissions directly before relying on either reading.
- Personal statement
- Not graded at shortlisting, but handed to an interviewer. Imperial shortlists on academic eligibility and UCAT rank alone, then provides the personal statement to the interviewers assessing MMI Station 1, Commitment to Medicine, and that station carries equal weight to the other five. Imperial's advice is to be honest, specific and concise.

For 2026 entry the threshold was 2320/2700 for home applicants and 2170 for widening participation, both requiring SJT band 3 or better. Imperial calculates the threshold each year by ranking applicants and cutting where its interview capacity runs out, normally the top third, so the figure is a consequence of the field rather than a standard. It switched to the UCAT only for 2025 entry, so it has two cycles of history and says its own numbers should not be read as a guarantee. A separate overseas figure of 2310 is widely reported but was not confirmed on Imperial's own pages, so it is not recorded.
Earlier cycles are not shown because the UCAT maximum changed from 3,600 to 2,700 when Abstract Reasoning was removed. A threshold from before that is a different unit, not a higher standard. Imperial College London application data, checked .

Imperial publishes the two halves of its funnel in two different documents and neither one is complete. Its undergraduate admissions statistics workbook gives, for the 2025 UCAS cycle, 2,149 applications, 661 offers and 357 places confirmed on Medicine MBBS, split into Home 1,369, 501 and 264 and Overseas 693, 153 and 88; it carries no interview count at all. Its A100 FOI answers give the interview count and nothing either side of it: 852 applicants invited to interview in the 2025 admission year, of whom 280 were international, and 870 invited for 2026 of whom 253 were international. The 852 here is that figure, so the interview line and the application line come from different Imperial publications for the same cycle. Places confirmed is Imperial's own wording for applicants whose offer was made unconditional after verification. Imperial's target intake is 345, capped by government, comprising 271 Home and 74 Overseas places. Two things about this workbook. Its Home and Overseas rows sum to 2,062 against the printed 2,149 because Imperial prints no EU applications cell for 2025 at all, while still counting 7 EU offers towards the 661 - on the offers column the split reconciles exactly, so the gap is suppression rather than an error. And the same file gives Medicine a different 2025 total on a different sheet: its gender sheet reads 2,473 applications, 699 offers and 378 places for the same course and cycle, and that sheet’s own female, male and unknown rows add to 2,473. The 2,149 here is the admission-rate sheet figure, and Imperial has not reconciled the two.

For context, the UCAT Consortium's own 2026 statistics report a mean cognitive score of 1918 (out of 2,700) across 42,359 tests, with the median (5th decile) at 1920 and the top decile at 2250+. This is a national figure, not Imperial College London's own threshold, since Imperial College London doesn't publish one for the current cycle.
